Panama Maritime Authority is pleased to welcome you to the technical certificates electronic application System
The Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted Resolution MSC.202(81) on May 19, 2006 amending Chapter V of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 (SOLAS) Regulation V/19-1 introducing mandatory position reporting obligations, called Long-Range Identification and Tracking system for ships (LRIT).
For this matter, the Merchant Marine Circular (MMC) 195 provides the instructions and procedure for the implementation of the Long Range Identification and Tracking of Ships (LRIT) positioning system through the Conformance Test Report (CTR) certification.
The CTR is a certificate confirming the compliance of certain telecommunications or information technology equipment with specific performance and safety standards. This certificate must be renewed annually and is subject to review by the Port State Control Authorities (PSC) during inspections.
This CTR extension granted by this Administration should be printed and kept on board at all time together with the last CTR.
NOTE: If after one month of not having completed the pending documentation, the system will automatically delete the application and must re-apply again.
