Panama Maritime Authority is pleased to welcome you to the technical certificates electronic application System
In an effort to improve the maritime security of ship amendments were made to SOLAS 1974 (Chapter V / 19-1) which require specific information to be maintained on board ship and continuously updated as the information is changed.
For this matter, the Merchant Marine Circular (MMC) 195 inform that is mandatory, that the Long-Range Identification and Tracking Equipment (LRIT) or the Automatic Identification System (AIS) maintain a permanent and adequate operation, avoiding by all possible means that they stop transmitting information on the identity and position of the vessel.
This LRIT/AIS Malfunction Authorization Letter granted by this Administration should be printed and kept on board at all time together with the last Cargo Ship Safety Radio Certificate
This Authorization will grant the operator a specific period of time for the vessel to continue sailing and to carry out the necessary repairs to its positioning and communication equipment. This Authorization is subject to review by the Port State Control Authorities (PSC) during inspections.
For validate the authenticity of the LRIT/AIS Malfunction Authorization Letter issued by this Administration you must use the Verification System or Certificates Query through http://certificates.amp.gob.pa/certificates
NOTE: If after one month of not having completed the pending documentation, the system will automatically delete the application and must re-apply again.
